I'm deeply passionate about advocating for others, expressing myself through writing, and giving back to my community. In addition to pursuing my writing interests, I dedicate myself to various non-profit initiatives, particularly those focused on supporting recovery and pediatric cancer research. My involvement in these causes reflects my sincere commitment to making a difference.
Having served as the Past President and Board member of Vie for the Kids, Inc, Deb feels grateful for the opportunity to have contributed to the organization’s mission of aiding children in need. She cherishes her time spent on the Family Advisory Board and Security Council Board of the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, where she and fellow volunteers worked together to support the Oncology department.
Recognizing the value of community-driven efforts, Deb humbly acknowledges her role in founding and chairing the Robby Brisco Open, an event aimed at fundraising for pediatric cancer research and clinical trials.
Through her diverse experiences and steadfast dedication, Deb strives to be a catalyst for positive change, both locally and beyond, with humility and gratitude guiding her every step.
Deb’s passion is helping people find renewed joy and purpose through life in recovery from substance use disorder. She remains an active participant in multiple support groups, frequently sharing her story of recovery and faith, including in service to women in prison or rehab centers.
She speaks on this topic to those in rehab, students, faith-based groups, mental health facilities, and all others needing information and inspiration.
In addition to her work in the community and her speaking engagements, she owns and operates Purpose Driven Life, LLC, helping small nonprofits to build a sustainable and effective organization.
