Attitude is Everything

When my son Hunter was going through his chemo treatments our community held a fundraiser for him and a news station covered the event. When the news reporter interviewed him, he asked Hunter “What advice would you give to another young person facing a difficult life situation?” Hunters’ response was “Keep a positive attitude. Attitude is everything.”

From that day on, Hunter’s motto and subsequently those around him, was “Attitude is Everything”. T-shirts and bracelets were printed with that simple phrase, reminding us all to keep our attitude in check.

I continue to live by that mantra. Life continues to throw me curve balls, yet if I keep things in perspective and exude a positive attitude, I learn to navigate through those unpredictable moments.

It’s not like I dance around my living room throwing flower petals in the air whenever I receive unexpected news, but I do take the time to recognize that I will be able to process the news and move forward with the situation if I choose to keep a positive attitude.

Attitude is contagious…. negativity is dark and will attract more darkness.  Conversely, positivity is bright and attracts more brightness.

Imagine a world where everyone’s energy was bright, kind, loving, and optimistic.

Picture yourself walking down the street and everyone around you is happy and joyous.  Despite what is going inside of your mind, their happiness will attract you. The energy and vibration level around them will naturally reach you and elevate your energy and vibration.

Now picture the opposite scenario, where you are surrounded by the negative words and emotions of others. Their vibration is low, and attitude is dismal.  That negative energy will try its best to attach to you and bring you down to its level and will most likely achieve its goal. You know what they say…misery loves company.

I challenge you to ask yourself these three questions:

  1. Which scenario are you choosing to live in?
  2. Which scenario are you choosing to distribute to those around you?
  3. Which scenario are you wanting for your loved ones to experience?

Attitude truly is EVERYTHING.  Every moment, of every day, we have the power to choose.

Choose wisely, as it will affect everyone you encounter.
